Two Bridges Luncheonette

I started my "residency" at Two Bridges this past Sunday, and I had a blast. Several of my old friends showed up—a few I haven't seen in many years—and we all had a great time at the show. Afterward, we went out for tasty Chinese food to a restaurant around the corner from the luncheonette (the venue is located on the outskirts of Chinatown).


There are challenges for me to do this series, of course: It takes me about 2.5 hours to get there and 2.5 hours to get back home; that travel time costs $$$, and so far the gig is only "pass the hat"; and all that traveling takes the stamina out of my hide, which could compromise my playing ability. Still, it's a gasser to play in NYC, and my hope is that in the nice weather, more people will come out, and I'll continue to put on successful shows.


Here are a couple of pix from the show. First, old friend Hans Boerrigter got up and jammed with me on the harp and bongos. Second, new friend Michael Gordon Potter jumped up and played MC for a minute, which I much appreciated:
